Food Barcode Scanner: Lookup and Portion Nutrition
Look up packaged foods from Open Food Facts by name search, camera barcode scan, or typed barcode. When a product loads, see calories, protein, carbs, and fat per 100 g, optional portion presets (25, 50, 100, 150 g) or custom grams, and data-quality warnings when values look inconsistent. Comparison and meal planning aid, not allergen certification.
How to use
Search food by name (up to about ten results; one result opens directly). Or scan a barcode, or enter digits and submit. On the product card, read per 100 g first, then set portion grams or tap a preset to see scaled values. Check amber warnings before relying on numbers for strict diets.
Example
Scan two breakfast cereals in the aisle, compare sugar per 100 g, then set 50 g on each to see calories for your usual bowl without mental math at the shelf.
Tips
Scanning needs HTTPS, camera permission, and decent light. Missing products are common for new or local items. Values are crowdsourced and can lag the package label. For allergies or clinical diets, read the physical label. The simpler food search page on Calctivo has text search and scan without portion tools.
