Budget Calculator: Monthly Surplus at a Glance

See how much money is left after four everyday spending buckets. Enter Monthly income, Rent/housing, Food, Transport, and Other expenses. The page shows Monthly savings, Total expenses, and Savings percentage. It is a quick household snapshot, not a full accounting export.

How to use

Total expenses are the sum of the four cost fields. Monthly savings equals income minus that sum. Savings percentage is surplus divided by income. Put irregular costs (insurance, subscriptions, childcare) into Other if you do not split them elsewhere.

Example

Income 35,000 with rent 10,000, food 5,000, transport 2,000, and other 4,000 leaves 14,000 in monthly savings (40% of income). Raising other to 6,000 drops savings to 12,000. Small edits show which line items hurt most.

Tips

Use net income if that is what hits your bank account. The page does not model debt payments or taxes automatically. Pair with the salary calculator or savings tools on Calctivo for longer plans.
